  • Cox Digital: Expanded cable with additional digital features available via cable box.

In addition, Cox television also offers a DVR upgrade, and High Definition television channels.

5. What features come with Cox Communications TV?
Besides the selection of channels and (if chosen) digital quality picture, more benefits are made available when using Cox Digital:

  • Over 200 channels, including premium movie channels
  • Interactive program guide with parental controls
  • Included Sports, Movies, and Variety channels for viewing; similar to Pay Per View.
  • If included, HDTV is available to digital subscribers.

6. What is a Digital Video Recorder (DVR)?
A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is a cable box system that allows you to track, record, and save your favorite shows, movies, and programs, even when you’re not watching, or watching something else. You can fast-forward, pause, and rewind like a VCR. Cox Communications supports DVRs, but only through Motorola or Scientific Atlanta equipment.

7. What is the Digital Video Transition?
By February of 2009, all broadcast cable television will be digital. If your television doesn’t accept digital signal or your cable provider isn’t digital, you will lose signal. You can ask your cable provider for more information.
Cox provides both analog and digital cable, and has no plans to stop providing analog until the deadline.

8. What Internet packages are available?
Cox offers three levels of High Speed Internet in all of it’s markets:

  • Value, with basic cable internet.
  • Preferred, with PowerBoost technology, prioritizing your speed according to activity.
  • Premier, including PowerBoost technology, with increased speeds for heavy users.

Top service download speeds are between 12 and 15 Mbit/s.
Cox High Speed Internet won the PC Magazine Readers’ Choice Award for High Speed Internet in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007.

9. What features come with Cox High Speed Internet?
In addition to the benefit of increased internet speeds, Cox High Speed Internet comes with the following features:

  • Webmail to access e-mail anywhere online.
  • Personal Webspaces to share stories, photos, and video, with up to 70MB of storage space.

11. What digital phone packages are available?
Cox Digital Telephone comes with one basic service, with various options according to region.

12. What features come with Cox Communications Digital Telephone?
Cox Digital Telephone comes with the following:

  • Free installation (in some areas) on existing telephone lines
  • Keep your old phone and number (in some areas)
  • Complete plans of local, nationwide, and long distance
  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) for faster, more clear phone calls
  • Battery backup in case of power outage
  • Popular calling features like Call Waiting, Caller ID, and Call Forwarding.
